SU PAING TUN●
The company is developed from Su's work across theatre, learning, access, and inclusive facilitation. Through her work with schools, arts organisations, special education settings and performance projects, Su saw how creative spaces can become more meaningful when different ways of learning, communicating, moving, listening, and participating are considered from the beginning.
ALT. STAGE brings these strands together into one practice-led company, creating a way into the arts for different minds, bodies, and ways of engaging.
ALT. STAGE was founded by Su Paing Tun. Su is a Singapore-based theatre practitioner, drama educator, teaching artist, and creative access artist.

THE NAME
WHAT ALT. STAGE MEANS●
The name ALT. STAGE began with the Alt key on a keyboard a key that opens another function. From there, “Alt” became a way of thinking about alternative pathways into theatre: different ways to enter, make, support, and experience a work.
"Stage” is not limited to a conventional theatre platform. It can also be a classroom, a rehearsal room, a gallery, a community space, or any place where something is tried, shared, rehearsed, or reimagined.
Together, ALT. STAGE points to another way in especially for people whose ways of thinking, communicating, or learning may not always be centred in conventional theatre spaces.
